Durham, NH - Day 62

Stats: We rode 84 miles under partly sunny skies with the temperatures in the high 70's.  The temperature was a bit cool at 45 overnight so we started our ride wearing jackets.  However the temperature quickly warmed to ideal conditions for our second last day of riding.  After breakfast at the fairgrounds, we headed south to Durham.  The modus operandi for now is good but careful riding so that we have no ride-stopping accidents this close to the end.  The top picture is the plaque received at the recognition meeting last night.  Today's ride was uneventful with old cemeteries, a few scenic lakes, another quick pass through Maine and of course an ice cream stop at Lone Oak Ice Cream at mile 65.  Steven ordered a large cone which is half covered by his hand.  It was a great value if he could eat fast enough.  We are staying at Oyster River Middle School just a few blocks from town and dining at Hollowway Commons on the University of New Hampshire campus.  Before dinner there was time for a few of us to share a last beer at Libby's Bar and Grill downtown.  At our final route meeting after dinner, the staff sang a song "White Line, Yellow Arrows", written by Janet and Jennifer, to help celebrate the ending of our trip.  Chris, Matt, Grant and Scott are singing their parts in the picture.  As we bed down tonight, we all realize with mixed emotions that each thing we do from here on will be the last time we will do it on our ride.
