Today we left Washington State and entered Idaho. Thirty-five miles into the ride I had a mechanical problem with my front shifter that left me stuck in my granny gear. The fastest I could go until lunch, 20 miles away where a mechanics would be available, was 10 miles per hour. It was like a moving spinning class. Tom assisted by pushing me along while riding beside me. When I arrived at lunch, John, the mechanic, put the degreaser to the shifter and fixed the problem. After his fix all was well for the rest of the day and hopefully for the rest of the trip.
