Today included 75 miles with a 3300' climb up and over Stephens Pass. The day started out at 50 degrees and after 2 1/2 hours of climbing at 5 mph, we reached the pass at 40 degrees in the clouds. The low clouds contributed to a misty damp morning. It was tiring. However over the top and a freezing 11 mile descent at 30 mph brought warmer temperatures with beautiful mountain vistas and clear skies. We descended along the Wenatchee River which is a snow fed mountain stream with raging whitewater and crystal clear pools. This is the kind of riding that we hope to have. It was amazing how the weather changed once over the mountains. Nice camping tonight at the Foothills Middle School ballfields in Wenatchee.
