The highlight of the day was lunch at Earthquake Lake, 43 miles into the ride. The lake was formed by a rock slide that damned up the Madison River. We had lunch and are standing on the rock slide which formed the dam. In one direction there is the river valley from which we approached with a nice 1 mile climb. In the other direction is the lake itself. In one of the pictures the dead trees that were submerged when the slide occurred can be seen.
