Interior, SD - Day 26

Stats: Today we rode 81 miles under sunny skies with temperatures reaching 95.  It was a nice change with mostly low traffic and long straight roads although it did get a bit hot by the end of the day.  Before going to the campsite, Tom and I stopped at the only gas station and store in Interior for a cool drink with Lance and Bruce.  The population of Interior is 11 people.  We are camped at Badlands Interior Campgrounds on the southern fringe of Badlands National Park this evening and will travel into the Park tomorrow.  This is a camping only option with no school gym available.  The campground did have a swimming pool which several of the riders took advantage of.  Dinner was an outdoor picnic catered by the same person who catered the diner in Rapid City.  I ate at a picnic table in the shade fighting off the flies.  Just before dinner Tom headed back to Rapid City to catch a flight in the am back home.  Now I am on my own among many new friends.
