Riverton, WY - Day 17

Stats: We rode 82 miles under cloudy skies with temperatures at 50-55, a light headwind and light rain for the last hour.  In real terms that means that we were chilled in the AM and wet in the PM.  After breakfast at Daylight Donut Shop in Dubois, we headed for Riverton.  As we mounted our bikes to start riding after breakfast, Tom and I both discovered fresh grease on our jackets which had been left outside on our bikes.  We have no idea where it came from and to this day it remains a mystery.  The terrain today was mostly flat with a gentle downhill grade.  As you can see in the picture of Larry (NE) and Glen (CO), it was chilly.   Tony (NETH) who did not have gloves with him had to stop at a hardware store and buy a pair of work gloves to wear.  The pictures show the red rock formations characterictic of this area of Wyoming.  Other than that we rode through a desolate part of the state with sagebrush, small buttes, and rocky hilly terrain with very few farms or towns as our companions.  As the showers approached we took a more direct route for the last few miles into Riverton.  Tonight's campsite is Riverton High School with meals onsite.
