Rapid City, SD - Day 25
The stats: We rode 66 miles under clear 80 degree skies. Another beautiful day for bike riding. The total elevation gain over the day of 5500' kept us working. I will repeat that this was a WOW day. In summary we rode the Needles Hwy, saw a bison herd, rode on the Iron Mountain Rd and visited the Mt. Rushmore Memorial. This will be rated as 1 of the top 10 riding days of the trip for sightseeing. It was a full day and we didn't arrive at the SW Middle School in Rapid City until 5pm. Fortunately dinner was at the school this evening. Unfortunately Tom discovered tonight that he will have to leave the ride for personal reasons planning to fly out of Rapid City the day after tomorrow. Hopefully he will be able to return.
