This is our rest and explore day in Lake Placid. As usual I took off on my own to see the sites. I visited the ski jump grounds and took the tour of the 120 meter ski jump which is the tallest here at Lake Placid. The one picture is the view from the platform that the jumper sits on just before releasing for his run down. The jumper will reach speeds of 60 mph at takeoff. It is quite a crazy high. These facilities are used regularly and Lake Placid even has a summer ski-jump fun competition.
