Lake Ontario Towns

In the afternoon we visited several charming harbor villages.  The first stop was Henderson Harbor with it's waterfront houses and cute little post office.  Deidra and I, who had separated from Tom on the way into Henderson, rejoined him at Penscot Ice Cream which was unique for its 27 flavors of soft serve ice cream.  We met a crew of four local gentlemen whose men's-Thursday-afternoon out consisted of visiting a different ice cream stand each week.  Next on our route was historic Sackets Harbor which was the location of a significant War of 1812 battle.  One picture is the battlefield park at Sackets Harbor and the other is the main road through the town.  The yellow house was the home of the commander of the military garrison.  At this point we turned inland and headed to Watertown.
