Before making the final turn to Devils Tower with 8 miles to go, we stopped at the Crook County Saloon for an early dinner at 2:30pm since dining facilities are limited at the campsite. Larry (NE), Norma (TX) and Tom joined me. The owner of the saloon sat with us and explained the coal mining process in Wyoming. After dinner we made a mad dash to the campsite, arriving before the threatening weather.
