Before Teton Pass - Day 14

We started the ride today out of Ashton with jackets as it was cool and windy.  Fortunately the wind was behind us for most of the day as we rode southeast.  In celebration of the July 4 weekend, several of us rode with flags on the back of our bikes.  The route today took us south down the west side of the Teton Mountain range with constant views like the picture with Tom.  However Jackson, our destination today is on the east side of these mountains and our afternoon treat was to pedal over them.  Our coffee break at mile 32 was at the North End Bar and Grill in Tetonia, ID ( Population of 347).  There is Dan, myself, Glen, Brian, Jim and Dr. Mike in the picture taken by Lori.  After lunch we were on a bike trail for a comfortable 8 miles to Victor before we turned left and started up Teton Pass.  In Victor, the residents were just finishing their July 4th parade and celebration as we passed through.  It is fun to see the spirit of the different communities expressed in their celebrations.

  1. This is a scene I recognize. Not the Tetons, but Sandy stopped, looking over his shoulder, waiting for me to catch up.
