Exploring Devils Tower National Monument

After entering the park, I walked past the Prairie Dog Town Preserve on my way to the tower.  It is one of several areas in the country where prairie dogs are protected and allowed to habitate.  The little fellows in the pictures were ready to jump into their holes if I got any closer.  The Tower itself is made up of tubular columns of rock stuck together, which sometimes fall down.  I walked completely around the base of the tower and observed several people climbing up to the top.  Can you pick them out in the one closeup picture?  Tonight's dinner was at the KOA restaurant as we prepared for another week of  riding.
