Custer, SD - Day 24

Today's stats:  We rode 64 miles under clear blue skies with temperatures in the mid 80's.  A mixture of mild headwinds and tailwinds with rolling terrain and 10 miles of hard packed dirt roads with gravel resulted in a tiring day. Just before my stop at the Crazy Horse Memorial, Tom opted to follow a portion of the Mickelson Bike Trail into Custer which is shown here.  It is paved with crushed limestone.  I took the more hilly paved roads and we regrouped at our campsite at Custer City High School 1 mile out of town.  I took a brief walk through the town before heading to the high school.  Custer is a thriving cowboy town with a mixture of the old west and the new west.
